This media burns like a charm. Burns flawlessly at 8x with no problem at all. I've had no writing or playback issues, playing backed up DVDs in a variety of stand-alone players. It is the exact same media as the high quality Verbatim media I had been using before.

Don't be so quick about recommending this Velocity brand dvd+r. I was lucky enough to get 100 spindle back in early November which turned out to be MCCs discs (but you never know, it's very easy for unscrupulous Taiwanese to duplicate MCC media code). I also heard that Velocity has recently switched as early as mid Nov N from MCCs to crappy ass Prodics. Anyways, although I haven't made a coaster yet on the Velocity MCCs with more than 30 discs burned on my NEC 3500A, I feel that these are fake MCCs. The packaging spindle looks rather cheap. Warning: buyer beware. Don't come back here and say I didn't tell you so.

These discs are the same as the Verbatim Movie Reel only without the labeling. The Velocity discs have a shiny silver top. Burns great at 4x with low scanned errors using KProbe.

Kickass 8X MMC media (Verbatim/Mitsubishi) although i can only burn at 4x speed on my old NEC...with latest firmware that supports burning on 8x discs. Dark purple/bluish color dye. Good price. No errors, read full 4.38GB disc in 5 minutes on my 16X LiteOn DVD-ROM

My discs are MCC 03's and they burn and play perfectly.They are shiny tops and look exactly like Verbatim's 4X-R discs with the shiny tops and silve ring in the center.
