Playback Perfect on PC DVD Drive.
Mixed results (30%) on DVD Player (Panasonic RV31). Sometimes it's ok, sometimes pixelization and skips nears end of disc, sometimes skips at beginning, sometimes it won't load at all. But never a flawless disc. Tends to do better if you do not use the entire disc (i.e. 3.5 GB only). I would not recommend this disc for DVD Player use.

Nero reports burning at 8X but in all cases thus far the burn takes a little more than 10 minutes, making it a 6X burn. Out of 4 burns, three play correctly and one hangs near the end of the recorded material. I can't recommend this media based on my sampling thus far.

Media is not very good for playing/burning movies. they will burn just fine at 8X. but will freeze/pause 4 out of 5 burns. so NOT reliable at all. Finally bought some TYg02 and they work just great. would not buy these again ever. the media does physically look fine (with a white printable surface) but media is not good in the least bit. these discs may work OK for data but NOT movies

Bought 50 spindle and 100 spindle but since i upgraded to sp1 and sp2 in xp the crap makes 95% coasters wasted like 75 dvdrs what a joke they used to work perfect to. tried like 10 burn programs and formated and reinstalled 4 times just think they bad batch rare since i got 2 spindles and they seem to have a higher rate of coasters each time i buy more.

Tried media in 3 DVD writers, Sony DRU-510A, NEC ND-2510A and Lite-On SOHW-832S. So far, it only burns reliably on the NEC drive. 50% coaster rate on other drives, regardless of speed at which it is burned.

I recently purchased a Toshiba SD-R5272 X8 burner and bought some Ritek R-03 X8 dvd+r's and some Ritek X4 dvd+rw's. The X4 dvd+rw's worked fine but the X8 R03's would only burn at X4. Dvdinfopro reports that it is X8 media. As an earlier poster mentioned. It is difficult to know whether it is media, burner, or software that is causing this problem.
I went back to the original PC magazine article about this burner and found they tested with Verbatim X8 disks. I now have some of these Verbatim DVD+R DataLifePlus disks. These do burn at X8 and all the software is working at X8. So in this case the problem was the media and burner combination not working together.

DVDInfo says media will work at 8x ("Media Id Code Speed 8.0x 11080KBps"), but Nero and DVD Decrypter (in ISO write mode) will only burn at 4x. I don't know yet if this is a media, drive, or other problem.
