My system would not even recognize this media. I'm using XP and Nero with a brand new ASUS DRW01604P that has the latest firmware. The discs were incredibly cheap at CompUSA. Now I know why.

These discs look excatly the same as the Memorex DVD-R with media ID "CMC MAG. AF1". However, these discs are terrible in every aspect. They burn without errors but it is after the burning the problems occur. In most cases, Windows (XP) can't even read the filesystem on the discs. In some cases XP can read the files, but PowerDVD can't play the movies.
Given a few exceptions, all burned discs fail to play on a variety of stand-alones.
The only noticeable difference between these and the " CMC MAG. AF1" is the fact that the plastic on the spindle is GREY in the case of "CMC MAG. AF1" and black in the case of these, "MBI 01RG20".
Stay away from these at all cost!

2 of 2 coasters. Burns ok, but Xp is unable even to recognize the filesystem. Both Nero (6.3) and RecordNow (4.?) even fails to mount the disc to verify it.
Switched to these (DVD-R) from Memorex DVD+R since I had problems with those (also made by MBI, India). It didn't help...
