The hack Edo Jansen posted works with NS333 the others don't. Used Palm Vx. Have multiregion player now ;o) Big thx 2 Edo! The hack as mentioned with Sony NS-305 with the use of Omniremote software / palm V worked beautifully on this player also. I've used the sony_dvd_hack.pdb file from http://dev0_2000.tripod.com/ This unit (ns-330) does not have light when in standby mode. I've used the following procedure: dvdplayer in standby (no lights whatsoever) pushed buttons 1,2,3,4,5 on the palm in this order (not twice as stated on the website) player shows "succes" in the display turned player off and on AND SUCCESS!!!! My region 2 player now plays region 1 also! | |||

As techland said, the laptop hack works perfect. If it is giving you trouble teach the commands from the laptop to a universal learning remote. I used my Home Theater Master MX-500 for learning the commands from my Acer Travelmate 630 laptop that was not able to program the DVP-NS333 directly due to its lack of power. The MX-500 with its powerful IR sensor learned the commands without any problem from the weak IRDA sensor of the laptop and from there I followed the instructions of the page (12345 two times). This also serves to confirm that the PC is effectively sending commands through the IRDA port. Happy hacking :) | |||

No problem with the procedure on http://www.selen.org/sonydvd.html and my ns333(italian region 2). Did anyone try the procedure again after hacking the player?(strange question!!) I tried again with a Nokia 6600 and .ccf file, but nothing happens! Let me know please. | |||
