Description (from the manufacturer site) | |||||||||
Product Tour The FlyTV MCE CardBus is the world's first CardBus TV card with hardware MPEG 1/2/4 encoding! Hardware encoding lets you watch and record video smoothly while running other applications on your notebook PC. Traditional software encoding uses the processor to encode the video, and can cause dropped frames if other programs are running at the same time. Using a hardware chip to do the encoding work frees up the processor to run other programs without losing video quality. The FlyTV MCE CardBus is also the first CardBus card to offer hardware MPEG-4 encoding, a LifeView exclusive! Save high quality video without filling up your hard drive, thanks to space-saving MPEG-4 encoding! Using MPEG-2, recording two hours of video takes up about 4,700MB, which is about 7 CDs or one DVD. But with MPEG-4, you can record that same amount of video with just 700MB, or one CD! |
