Edit in DV and master in MPEG2
The Amber MPEG2 archiving and mastering kit provides the DV videographer a high quality, efficient way of storing DV productions for mastering and distribution. By using I, B, and P frames (MP@ML) the producer can be assured of high quality at a low data rate. Quality levels can be set ranging from 1Mb/s to 15Mb/s. With variable and constant bit rate options the user can adjust bandwidth depending on the complexity in the video. Stereo audio can also be captured into Layer II formats up to 48khz at 16 bits. Competetive advantage The quality of video capture is significantly better with true IBP support (others use I-frame or IP-frame only). As with all Canopus products, Amber is known for its stability. Amber is compatible with DVRex and DVRaptor editing systems, and can display a video window while capturing and playing MPEG2 files. > Single PCI board > MPEG-2 D1, Half-D1 and MPEG1 real-time encoding > Encodes I,P,B frames (MP@ML) > I-frame-only option > Bitrate 1-15Mb/s user adjustable (CBR/VBR) > PAL (720x576)/NTSC(720x480), CCIR-601 > Composite and S-video input and output > Video parameter controls > Prefiltering 4:2:2 to 4:2:0 > Windows 9x, 2000, and NT4.0 compatible > MPEG Layer II audio encoder > Simultaneous high quality VGA video overlay and > analog video output > Video and audio locked in sync during capture Catalog number: 770-10017-200 |

Column Explanation ![]() New comments= New comments since your last visit. New Card= New Capture Card since your last vist. Feature What kind of main capture features it supports Analog VideoIn = Analog composite or/and SVHS video input Video Card = If it is a Video Card/Graphic Card Tv Tuner = Built-In TV-Tuner Digital TV = Built-In Digital TV-Tuner DV/Firewire = DV/Firewire/i.Link input DV Converter = Analog composite or/and SVHS video input and converts to DV video MPEG1 hardware = Capture directly MPEG1(VCD) video using hardware* MPEG2 hardware = Capture directly MPEG2(SVCD and DVD) video using hardware* MJPEG hardware = Capture directly to MJPEG using hardware* MPEG4 hardware = Capture directly to MPEG4(DivX,Xvid) video using hardware* * = Most capture cards can capture to this format using software but it usually requires a very fast computer, if it supports realtime capturing it uses the capture cards hardware and it doesn't require a very fast computer and you may get better quality but less options/settings than software capturing. Compatibility What Operating System our users have reported that it works on, Win95=Works Cnx = Connection What type of connection the capture device has to the computer, PCI, AGP, USB1/1.1/2, DV or PCMCIA. Price The price in US dollar. Rating The first rating is based on a weighted rank (the true Bayesian), it requires at least 5 votes to get a weighted rating. The second rating between the ( ) is a normal average rating. Comment User comments, click on view to view them or add to post a own comment. |
