Tools: DVD2AVI
and Tmpgenc
12a and maybe a DVD
Ripper.
First extract the DVD2AVI.exe and the DVD2AVI.vfp to a folder.
Then install TMPGEnc 12a to a folder. Also download the TMPGEnc
VFAPI 0.11.20.98 to the same folder and run the .bat file.
Note: DVD2AVI doesn't convert the MPEG2/DVD/SVCD
to an AVI, it's just makes so you can open it in TMPGEnc.
Setting up the MPEG2
1. Launch
DVD2AVI.
Make sure that you have the DVD2AVI.vfp. (place it in the same
folder as dvd2avi.exe)
2. Choose
Open
3. Choose the first mpg2/vob-file. Then add the rest. Open
them in correct order. When finished, press OK. It should look
something like this:
If everything went OK, the movie should appear in the preview
window
Audio
1. Now check
that the settings are as follow:
Dolby Digital should be checked.
Decoding
is an important setting. This one decides which audio track that
will be used. You have to know which one to choose. The English
track is often Track 1, and the others are maybe Spanish, French
or Deutsch audio track.
Linear PCM = None

-> 44.1KHz = Quality
Normalize
= Maximum
Video
1. Now you should choose which segment of the video you want.
Use Mark In and Mark Out buttons()
to do this. And do NOT put the Mark In at the immediate beginning.
Put it a few seconds after the beginning(because it's sometimes
junk in the start).
2. Select View->Preview.
3. Select View->Statistics and the Statistics window should
appear.
4. Check what
is says under Aspect Ratio and remember if it says 4:3 or 16:9.
5. Check what is says under Frame Type. It can show these 4 things:
