Is there a way to rip a DVD to a DUAL-Audio or even a multi-Audio avi?
As far as it matters, it's an episode DVD.
I've used the workaround via MakeMKV, then MKVextractGUI to get the mpeg2's and sound and subs out, then remux them via vdub etc, but:
1 it takes kinda long and
2 i think it will lose quality cos of the many transcodings/conversions,
3 it costs me 10GB of discspace.
so is there a way to go directly from VIDEO_TS to avi with 2 or more audio tracks?
And also, with separate subtitles, preferably in .SRT (or any text) format?
All the rippers i've seen, like imtoo, dvdx, smartripper, they all seem only to be able to produce an avi with just ONE audio track, often with the subs hardcoded AAAARGH! And sure, I can rip them 3 times, for each audio track I want, then save the audio with goldwave or vdub, but that seems overly .... stupid?
There's Xvid2PSP ... maybe, but it takes a staggering, whopping 125 (HUNDRED AND TWENTY FIVE) mb of discspace to operate. I have the space, but I am hugely distrustful of any program that takes 10 times more resources than all the other apps to do the same thing, basically.
I'm drawing a huge blank, here, I know there must be an easy way to do, just not seeing it right now.

Use DGMPGDec with AnyDVD to rip all the video, audio and subtitle streams to your hard disk, then convert the video to avi with your favourite tool (VirtualdubMod, AutoGK, Fairuse Wizard etc.) and use AVI-Demux_GUI to mux the video, audio and substreams that you want.

Thank you both. It seems there's no other solution than the hard way. Back to the saltmines it seems, since i really want 3 audio traks, eng-spa-comment
Midders, i don't get why I wouldn't use Vdubmod to mux and add 3 audio streams to the avi at the same time?
Why use an extra program like avi-demux?
Baldrick,
If I ever am less lazy to learn AutoGKese, I will use it when there's just two audio streams.
Okay maybe i will ask you pointed autogk quesions en un rato, beware!Looking for subtitles of: Höök tt0997023, Lime tt0269480, La clé sur la porte tt0077348. tt=iMDb.com Found Desideria tt0081724 subtitle! :-) -
Ok, at first I loaded the wrong IFO files but now I've done it right, and agk gives me the chance to select even 3 audio streams and I think to ditch the fourth one. However, it's still running, so i report back later.
Q: how come i can only select ONE subtitle per go, and will they be hardcoded?Looking for subtitles of: Höök tt0997023, Lime tt0269480, La clé sur la porte tt0077348. tt=iMDb.com Found Desideria tt0081724 subtitle! :-) -
Wow, good old AutoGK REAALY let me have 3 audio streams. This was almost exactly like I wanted it, without the encumbersome mkv step.
It did take 2.5 hours and i had to readjust the audios but hey.....
Baldrick, two questions:
1. How do I set the video bitrate exactly to what I want instead of guestimating it with the MB size?
2. how do I adjust the WxH, so that it comes out as 704x384 aspect ratio=1,8333 instead of 704x400, aspect ratio=1,76 ? It seems I can only set the width, but not the height!
Or should I used normal GK now for all that?
Purely for curiosity purposes, the autogk log. Maybe a quick glance is either interesting or unbearably funny to you. I don't know why im posting it, actually.
