  1. Okay, well in that case I think the movies are outstanding It's just that it's totally different from the movie style, but since it isn't, great.
You must have so a lot of spare time to create all these movies. Could you tell me how you do things? Do you watch other movies to get inspiration? How long does editing take? What did you edit and what's just footage from the dvd? Astonish me even more

  2. Well I don't have THAT much free time. I've only turned out about about 5 or 6 edits a year.

And, I already do work in film/television, so it's part of my nature.

As for the length, it usually takes about 5 days to make an edit. The Ultraviolet one took 7 days.

And yes, the footage is from the DVD(s). I convert it to lossless huffy.

Is this thread still going ?

I've tried a few of the video's and none of them seem to work.

Would love to see some videos edited with different tools.

Here's a pretty basic edit I made with TMPGEnc, putting together clips from several Rage Against the Machine shows (legally acquired) and putting subtitles to label the date/venue. I used AutoGK w/subtitles to encode to 498 MB AVI.

  6. I make mostly videos of skiing and cars, but this is one I completed recently for my big brother's 40th Birthday. There is a surprise at the end.

  7. I made this one last week for a piece of music I'd already done.
As you'll see if you watch it, it's a hastily thrown together music video, made simply as something to accompany the music. Filmed with a JVC GR-DX67 using artificial light, a ropey old still camera tripod, a cardboard model of a 1950s Eccles caravan and a record player.

Edited using Premiere Pro 1.5, (as are the other even worse videos on the same youtube profile).
(titles created using an old version of CorelPhotoPaint)

    Gets more interesting about half way through . . . . .

** EDIT - Just remembered, this one is probably a bit more interesting, but don't watch if you like Bognor.

Here is the teaser trailer from my forth coming Zombie film, Deadlands: Trapped, originally titled, Deadlands 2: Trapped.

Edited with Sony Vegas 8.0 pro.

The film was shot on a $6300 budget. IMDB lists both the first film, Deadlands: The Rising and the current film.

    Hi
I just finished making this music video... we shot on 7 different types of camera and mobile phone and i edited it in Final Cut Pro. We also gatecrashed every location we used. To sync up the performance I used silent disco headphones to transmit the track to the girls and extras. It looked well dodgy having all these wires coming out of my back pack whilst shooting on the tube in london!

check it out, I'd love to know what you guys think of it.

  13. I'm a music nut and I enjoyed it for what it is. My only comment is that the public seems totally unimpressed or phased by the girls.

It would have been a lot more entertaining if there were some interaction.

  14. this is my firs attempt at using PIP. I used WMM for the first edit utilizing all the news style effects and then re edited it with Magix movie editor 14 for the PIP effects and a few additional text crawls. If only I was better at looking at the camera when talking instead of reading the story. (Really wish I had a TelePrompter) I should get a big dryerase board and put it behind the trypod for my lines. Anyways, I'd love some feedback.

Most of my work is with Porsche 944 racing videos. Here's my first big project from last year...

    http://www.vimeo.com/6227765

    Video starts at around 0:16.

It was a small race for us (only 9 cars in our class), but we had 6 cameras covering it, and it was a good opportunity to try some different things and learn. I used RaceRender to do all the real work, then just Windows Movie Maker to add the titles and pictures that you see at the beginning.

I hope to do a similar, but better, video for a big national championship race in a few weeks... we'll have a world-class race track (Miller Motorsports Park), 3 times as many cars, lots more cameras (3 on my car alone, and no more wobbly-picture), and we wont have to share the track with cars from other classes. I also want to capture audio from the announcers, and shoot a better intro sequence.

I'm thinking maybe something like this for the intro...

These were edited in Windows Movie Maker, so, I guess that might explain some things to some people.

      Sid Vicious auditions for X-Factor!

      8)

All the source material was downloaded from YouTube as MP4 files using Firefox, then converted to mov files using Quicktime Pro with the animation codec to preserve as much quality as possible during editing (huge files though!) which was in Premiere (except for AE for the mattes) from where it was output using Adobe Media Encoder as an flv with max quality settings and data rate limit of 6k Mbits/second (or 6k of something, or maybe just 6...) ended up at about 32MB and then uploaded.

maltesefalconese, The audio has some abrupt transitions that need some work. Maybe quick audio fade ins - fade outs. And more steady camera work would help a lot. You might put together a simple steadycam device to smooth out the video part. Something like this: http://steadycam.org/ There are lots of variations available.
