Tools: Ulead DVD MovieFactory, 30 days trial available.

First make your VCD,SVCD or DVD MPEGs, read under CONVERT.

In this example I will make a SVCD with 6 chapters and a menu(it is basicly the same for VCD and DVD).

Install DVD MovieFactory and launch it.
Select Author menus



Select New Project, SVCD (or VCD or DVD depending what you will create).
Hit Next.



Add the MPEG video file.
Hit Next.



Now to the chapters(scene selections) It is very very simple.
Note! This chapters are not true chapters where you can use the skipforward and skipbackward buttons on your remote while watching, this chapters are only selectable from the menu.
1. Drag the bar where you want the chapter to start.
2. Click Add>>.
Repeat those steps until you have all chaptes/scenes.
Hit Next.



The menus is also very simple to create but you can not make any advanced DVD Menus, you can only use predefined templates.
1. Select the template that looks good by double clicking on it.
2. Click on the text to change it.
3. It is possible to use a own background image
4. and also a custom background music for each menu.
Hit Next.



Hit Play to test the menus and chapters.
If something is wrong use the Back button to go back to the menu and chapters creation to correct it.
Hit Next.



Configuring for burning
1. Select a temporarily folder.
2. Select your CD or DVD Recorder.
3. Choose a disc label.
(This option 4 is only when creating SVCD!!! Click Advanced SVCD Option, here you can use Legacy SVCD or SVCD Standard. Choose SVCD Standard but if you have problem playing the SVCD on your DVD Player try Legacy SVCD.)
Hit Next.



Last do you burn the VCD,SVCD or DVD.
Done.
