How to modify PROM values ************************************************** A. System Information and Factory Reset (1) DVD -> Program -> Setup -> TV Aspect -> 16:9 (2) hit 1397139 on remote (3) Returns system information and resets PROM code to factory default. The region hack for the LG 5083 also works on this player. Follow the instructions carefully and burn the CD in ISO9660 mode for best compatibility. After step 7 wait for it to say new region 0 before you power off. | |||

VCD/SVCD hack Change 4th number in PROM from 4C to 4E to enable VCD. Change 7th number in PROM from 00 to 10 to enable SVCD. See other posts for PROM editing instructions. Press PROGRAM, 5 to get E. Do not change to FE or EE as shown in other hacks, this enables other stuff that can cause you trouble later. Default PROM settings: 55 53 00 4C 10 05 00 FF After VCD and SVCD hack: 55 53 00 4E 10 05 10 FF | |||
