1. Power on the DVD player 2. Press the Open/close button on your remote control to open the drive tray and remove any disk 3. Press 2403960 4. Press 9 for multi-region playback. DO NOT Press Enter button on your remote control 5. You will see a 9 (region-free) on the TV (right corner) 6. Press the Open/close button on your remote control to close the drive tray 7. Power off the DVD player 8. Power on the DVD player and it is region free. Works very well with regions 1 and 4 | |||

for SD-K860SU manufactured April 2006, D. Chavez's hack works perfectly. The 9 appears in a bar on the upper right quadrant of the TV. Tested with regions 1, 3, and 6. | |||

Chavez region free hack works. He is a genius. I have avoided Toshiba until now. Bought from Costco today. Playing wasabi region 3 dvd ok. Audio must be PCM instead of Bitsteam for this DVD. FF goes to 100x max. Good but not as good as Panasonic DMR-ES46VS at 200x max. Oppo also has better video quality. Toshiba ok but not the best. I hope their A1 DVD-HD is better than this cheap crap SDK860. Probably equal to a philips divx unit... upconverting to 1080i on Vizio P50 Plasma. Thank you! | |||
