Go to this website http://www.math.uga.edu/~djb/html/dvd.html, download the file FreeZoneLG6053.exe, extract the files, burn the BIN/CUE to CD, insert into your DVD player, turn on, then choose your region! Works flawlessly! | |||

Targa DP-5100x hits the shelves of Lidl stores in UK on 14/Mar/2005. Here is a summary of the region hacks from the net: 1) The hack posted on this page by pickle17 on December 17 2004 is not free. You will have to pay 3.95 pounds for CD, which will be sent to you by post. This may be ideal for those of you who do not have a CD butner. If you have a CD burner and you do not want to wait to be sent something by post then read on. 2) If you want to download the CD files from the hack posted here by pickle17 on December 17 2004 then that will cost you 3.00 pounds. However, elsewhere the same files are available for free. If you do not want to pay for something which can be download for free then read on. 3) Here is one working (and free!) hack, quoted from http://www.dvd.reviewer.co.uk/forums/th ... mp;Type=1: "This hack for Targa 5100x WORKS, posted by Lord Jim on Friday, 17th December 2004, 15:42 OK Guys, Try this: (a) Go to this site http://www.targa.gmxhome.de/frieschalten_des_regionalcodes.htm (b) Download the file kpjct19_1.dvd to your Desktop. Make SURE this file is named EXACTLY this way, if not rename it. This file MUST be 4 bytes long only. (c) Now create another folder on your desktop called RMTM0000 and inside this folder create another folder called SCARLET. (d) Now copy the kpjct19_1.dvd file from your desktop and paste it into folder SCARLET. (e) Now burn the RMTM0000 folder to a CD. (f) After the above is finished place the CD into your Targa Player and close the door. You will get a screen telling you the unit is on region 2 select 0-6 to change. (b)In Scarlet subdirectory there must be one file, with filename kpjc19_1.dvd, consisting of four bytes of data (hex 17 17 8C 00). You can download this file from http://www.math.uga.edu/~djb/html/kpjc19_1.dvd (c) Put the CD in the player. On the TV screen, you will see a menu of country codes. Country code 0 selects region free. This Hack works for the DRH-5100x and can be found at: http://www.dvd.reviewer.co.uk/forums/thread.asp?F ... amp;Type=1 Hack is as follows: Hi everyone, i joined the forum to give this info. Been looking round the forums about the targa 5100x and there is a lot of mis information about it. The machine is based on the Liteon 5045 not the LG as stated somewhere else on here. To make it region free do the following. 1) Power on the machine 2) Press SETUP 3) Hightlight EXIT 4) Press 2 9 6 0 New menu pops up then chose your required region.
