Above hacks seem to work well on ordinary Samsung SV-DVD1E players. However, there is a new model out new, which says Samsung SV-DVD1E on the box and cover, but Samsung SV-DVD1EA on the back of the machine. All of the other hacks dont work on this one, as it seems to have a new firmware. After you type in the region-sensitive code (the 5 digits) nothing happens. There is however a hack that works on it (I know for myself, after searching and trying umpteenth times for a working one) It goes a little something like: -Cold restart without disc(power on, press play and FFW simultaniously) -Turn machine off (just to be sure) -Turn machine on -Watch till 'no disc' appears in the upper left corner -press 'subtitle' button on remote(so no SETUP, or Repeat A/B) -press region sensitive code for your current region: for Region 1 use 2, 9, 3, 3 and 4 for Region 2 use 3, 8, 7, 6 and 7 for Region 3 use 5, 6, 7, 3 and 2 for Region 4 use 7, 6, 8, 8 and 4 for Region 5 use 5, 3, 8, 1 and 4 for Region 6 use 2, 4, 4, 6 and 2 While pressing this code, the 'no disc' must stay in the upper left corner, if it dissappears and shows the buttons your pressing its the wrong code. AFTER!! pressing the last digit, it will show your current region. -now type the wanted region (mostly 9, this is the region-free setting) -open the DVD tray with the button on the front end of the machine itself (not the remote) -Press the Standby button on the Remote to turn the power of Thats the Trick, hope this helps a few frustrated people (like I was) | |||
