This will work for those in Australia with a DVD-R121, DVD-R100 & DVD HR720 Region 4 machines 1. Ensure NO disc is in the machine. 2. Using the remote, press '0' 4-5 times a second apart. 3. Press REPEAT button. 4. Press '76884' (this is the R4 region code). If done correctly a small '4' appears for a second in the top left of screen. 5. Press '9' while the '4' is displaying onscreen and the number 4 changes to number 9. 6. Open and close disc tray. If all appeared as mentioned above and you undertook the steps correctly, you should now have a region free player. | |||

This hack works for Region 2 players. Just used it on the player I bought here in Spain: Power On with empty tray (No Disc will be displayed in the DVD control panel) Press the Repeat button on your remote control. NB: Do NOT confuse this with the Repeat A-B button (bevare that it seems that nothing happens when you press the Repeat button, but this is normal). Press the buttons 5, 7, 5, 3, 8 (2 will be displayed very briefly on the top left hand corner of the TV screen). Press the 9 for multi-region playback (9 will be displayed very briefly on the top left hand corner of the TV screen). Finished and ready to play all regions. | |||

I just succesfully used the region code hack posted by Guy Redman on my recently purchased region 4 DVD HR720. It took me a few goes to get the timing of the button pressing right and also I found it useful to have an active input being passed on through the unit rather than just a blank screen with the DVD player "no disk" etc. messages (though it might just have been that my button pushing got better with practice). | |||

Just used the hack on a region 2 player in Denmark, bought 30.03.2006. Hack 2 worked perfectley after a couple of tries. I found though, that i had to do a open/close and power on/off after entereing 9, to "activate" the changes. Everything works fine now, plays all dvd's. | |||

Just purchased the above player from www.play.com I'm in the UK came out set to Region 2. Tried the above hack all worked OK!!!!!!!!! Had to try a couple of times, ejecting the tray seemded to work. | |||
